BOYS - boys can wear their black or gray warm up pants and white or black shirt this day.

Thursday, December 19th - Christmas Pageant, 11:00 a.m., Church Fellowship Hall
We will spend the morning doing Christmas activities, ready Jacob's Gift, and playing outside.  Several moms are sending healthy snacks. Please send a water bottle.  Remember to have your child wear the items listed above (from Wednesday).  Melinda and I will help the children change into costumes.  All kindergarten classes will leave the Fellowship Hall after the pageant and may be picked up in the classroom after changing.  We will not be having refreshments in the room this year following the pageant.

I love your children incredibly and count it a blessing to share in this special week with your families.  Praying that I can be a tiny part of encouraging their love of our Savior that came to earth so that we might know Him.   Kay

Week of December 9-12

Sound of the Week - J
Book of the Week - The Miracle of Jonathan Toomey
Mom of the Month - Melinda Rowand

Reminders for the Week:

Late Start - Wednesday, December 11th,  school starts at 9:20
Service Project - December 12th led by Pam Hamilton and Melinda Rowand.  Please reply to email about items that your family will donate.
Please lift our class up daily in prayer.  It's a wonderful, busy time...but we want to keep our focus on the Real Reason for our celebrations - our precious Savior!  These kids are so in awe of the story of the Nativity.  It is a joy to start a craft project or story as they ask many questions with wonder and amazement.

Our class song for the pageant is Angels We Have Heard on High.  I downloaded the iTunes Cedarmont Kids version and used in classroom on Thursday.  Sweet Children's CD!
We will also recite from Luke as a class.  I will work on this in class this week and send home tomorrow afternoon.  Maggie, Sydney and Evan will recite single scriptures and their mamas are aware of this!  Please email me with any questions.
Very important Pageant Information:
Dress Rehearsal - December 18th - Melinda Rowand will be helping.
Pageant - December 19th at 11:00 - Melinda Rowand helping with snack/party and then will help with costumes.

We will try on costumes this week to see if any changes are needed.
Please see important info below about your child's costume.  Please ask any questions needed for clarification.  We are incredibly blessed to have all of the costume items that have been made by parents in past Kindergarten classes.

I plan to take a picture of a classmate in the costume and will send to you to better clarify.

Girl Angels - wearing white gowns-  will need white tights, ballet slippers or white shoes, long-sleeved white shirt (either turtle neck or crew neck).

Boys Angels - wearing silver gowns - will wear khaki pants, short sleeved white t-shirt and chapel shoes (dark).

G Week! "Jacob's Gift'

Week of December 2-5

Happy First Day of December and 1st Sunday of Advent!   Wendy Williams, one of our Kindergarten teachers, compiled an Advent Devotional that we sent home in backpacks on our last day of school before Thanksgiving Break.  Hopefully you can locate and discuss with family tonight.

I have missed your children over our week break and have lifted each of your families in prayer as we enter this wonderful season of celebrating our Savior's Birth!

Many of the kindergarten teachers will send home letters this week detailing the reasons that we only discuss the birth of Christ in Celebration of Christmas in our kindergarten program.  Honestly, I know your hearts, Christ is your family's focus for the season and we know that you will encourage your child to keep this focus when they are at school.  We will say, "we have so much to talk about Jesus' birth that we don't have time to talk about anything else at school".....so no discussion of Santa, elves, etc. at school.

Mom of the Month - Melinda Rowand

Pam Hamilton and Melinda Rowand will be leading our Service Project on December 12th.  We will be serving the Security team at Perimeter Church.  You will be receiving email from Pam in the next week detailing items needed to create goodie bags for each of the seven security men.  We are combining with Mrs. Jernigan's class for this project.

Thank you, Pam Hamilton for being our awesome Mom of the Month for November...don't know what we would have done without you at our Thanksgiving Feast - your music blessed many.

We learned last week  that our class with be the "Angels" for our Kindergarten Christmas Pageant on December 19th.  Our costumes are already made and are adorable!  I will send a photo of what is needed to wear under your child's costume this week.  Each class sings a song in the pageant and we have been assigned "Angels We Have Heard on High" - we will practice many times in class and in rehearsals, but I you might want to add to your song list for this season.  We begin Pageant rehearsals tomorrow!

Please make plans to attend our Christmas Pageant on Wednesday, December 19th at 11:00 in the Church Fellowship Hall.  Invite grandparents, aunts, cousins and friends.  We always have a packed house.  It's wonderful.  My in-laws drive from North Georgia every year to see our 13 minute long pageant.  It's one of their favorite holiday traditions.
