Welcome Back! January 7-9

Week of January 7-9

Sound of the Week - Review of Letters to Date
Book of the Week - Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening - Robert Frost
Habit of the Month - Responsibility
Mom of the Month - Rachel Reiboldt

Happy New Year!  I hope that your holidays were special and somewhat restful.  I can't wait to see  your children tomorrow! (I'm at school typing at this moment and just heard Forsyth schools are closed tomorrow - historically, public schools tend to close due to low temperatures at bus stops and transportation.  Since this is not an issue at Perimeter, we will be open if possible.  Remember to check wsb weather for closing updates and I will send email if I hear anything earlier).

This week will be a review of letter keyword sounds to date and basically everything that that we have studied in math and narration.   Our book of the week, Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening is actually a poem with fantastic illustrations.  It is a great book to study this week with our chilly temperatures!

As we continue in January, we will begin many learning activities that encourage reading readiness.  The students grow so much in January-May.  Please celebrate your child's growth and desire to learn.

Please be aware of the following upcoming dates:

January 7th - First Day Back
January 10th - Father Daughter Dance (this is a fantastic night - registration still open).
January 14th - Report Cards Available.  Pick up in Elementary Office after 12:00.
January 18th - Investigating Perimeter School - 6:30 p.m. - encourage friends to attend.
January 20th - MLK Day - No School
January 29th - Lower Elementary Chapel - (chapel dress)
