We had a special week last week with our very first Chapel.  Your children were well -behaved and stayed engaged and interested.The water pistols were a hit.  

What a joy to see how much your children love to be outside.  We spent much of our time at the Perimeter pond and studied our Perimeter swans.  It made our "Ugly Duckling" book much richer.  Your children are concerned about the swans as it seems that the local geese are chasing them away from the pond daily.  

It was great to meet last Tuesday night.  Please remember to let me know the number from  your family that will be a part of our Apple Orchard Field Trip on September 26th.  I have only heard from 5 families.

Looking forward to studying the well-loved Eric Carle book, The Very Hungry Caterpillar.   Kelly Clements, our Mom of the Month, has given our class a gift of many outstanding books that will help supplement our book studies this month.  If you have any Eric Carle books, puzzles or games at home, this would be a great week to pull them out and enjoy them as a family.   We will review the Days of the Week, practice recognizing the days of week as sight words, discuss the life-cycle of a Butterfly (thanks Kelly for the yummy snack on Thursday), make butterfly "blob" art, and much more.
