Lee Class Parent Meeting - Tuesday, September 10th in our classroom, 6:15 p.m.

First School-wide Chapel - Wednesday, September 11th - Main Sanctuary - 8:30 a.m..
Thanks, Kelly Clements for being our chapel mom this month!  Children must wear Dressy Enrichment (Chapel Attire) please contact me with questions and review in school handbook.  Unfortunately, those not dressed appropriately will have to sit in Mrs. Crist's office during chapel.  This means appropriate khaki shirts, white blouse and navy sweater with dress shoes for girls - navy blazer or navy sweater, TIE, khaki pants and dress shoes for boys.

What a blessing to be the teacher in this class of children that love to learn by exploring and doing!  I am sure that you have heard about our wonderful walks around the pond this week and the at least 15 turtles that seem to swim toward the class when we stop to look.  It's amazing.  I have been calling them to turtle whisperers.  As we study The Ugly Duckling this week I plan to take this class a little deeper into God's creation as we will do daily observations of the two swans on our campus, nature sketches, differences in ducks and swans, we will even solve the mystery of how the swans came to live on our campus!  This class loves to learn outdoors and could stay outside most of the day.

Our large playground has been torn down and is being replaced.  We had hoped it would be up and ready by the end of this week but was not delivered last week as planned.  I am sure that the children will keep you updated.

Thursday, September 26th - Class Field Trip to Reese Apple Orchards.
Pam Hamilton is helping me to plan this wonderful School day.  We will give out more information at the Parent Meeting on Tuesday night.  This is a family event if interested!  We have at 10:00 a.m. reservation at Reese Apple Orchards in Ellijay to tour the Orchard on a hayride,  pick a bag of apples, pet the animals in their petting zoo and buy yummy apple baked goods made in their bakery.  Those who would like, can drive straight from their houses to the Orchards that morning OR we can meet at Perimeter so that we can caravan up to Reese's.  We need to know your family's plans by this Friday, September 13th.  Cost - 6.00 for bag of apples, $2 for hayride and $2 for petting zoo = 10.00 per participant.    We will pay at the Orchard.

Your children are a joy!  Have an awesome weekend!

Kay
